I grew up in the Northern California town of Lodi. I earned my MFA in Photography and Integrated Media from Ohio University and my BFA in Photography from Texas State University. In my artistic practice I discuss issues surrounding family and identity using a variety of subjects. Through the revisiting and translating of memories, I reflect on my multiracial and complicated upbringing and the resistance society has to these experiences. My work has been exhibited nationally and I enjoy developing lectures and workshops specific to the context the work is presented in. I currently work as Exhibitions and Programs Manager at Blue Star Contemporary, curating exhibitions and coordinating special projects with artists. Prior to BSC I worked for various arts organizations with my experience ranging from exhibitions coordinating, to collections archiving and curatorial writing, to teaching undergraduate courses and working with refugee and at risk youth. In my free time I enjoy traveling with my husband Shea and baby boy Elza.
